The D-type performed faultlessly during the entire 24 hours of Swansea while other teams suffered a variety of problems, with well over half the race being run in heavy rain. The full body work protected the drivers and car as it had during PC1000, allowing the team to secure the win with around 90 minutes of the race remaining.

After the race, which took the car's mileage to around 1,500 miles from new, the drive still looked brand new. The spike visible on the top of the tail is the aerial for the pit to car radio.
