Racing Odyssey in its last race for Great Central, Bill Austen powers the car through Io (1) on the fantastic Wolverhampton East Park circuit, the front right lifting clear of the tarmac thanks to undulations in the surface.
Although only a little over a year old, Odyssey was superceded by Clipper, an Apollo C-type, at the following race (the Swansea 24-hour). The major advance on the C-type is the fitting of twin disk brakes in place of the caliper brakes of older designs. Prior to this development, Odyssey had been modified and fitted with a single disk on the drive wheel (rear left), hence the apparent absence of brakes in this picture.
