Following a punishing 2000 season, Swansea returned the original Apollo to GCRE for a full rebuild to Apollo type-B standards.

This major re-engineering project involved upgrades to the drive system, steering, wheels, seat and bodywork.

Apollo is seen here in the GCRE workshop part way through the project, with the new steering assembly and new but incomplete bodywork clearly visible. Apollo type-B Intrepid is in the background.
